When you’re doing keyword research, you should be looking at a variety of different factors, including:
- The overall search volume for the keyword
- The competition level for the keyword
- The difficulty of ranking for the keyword
- The potential traffic that could be generated from the keyword
All of these factors will help you understand a particular keyword’s viability. If you’re targeting a keyword with high search volume and competition, you may have difficulty ranking for it.
However, if you’re targeting a keyword with lower search volume but low competition, you may have an easier time ranking for it.
Measuring domain authority is a good way to get an idea of how difficult it will be to rank for a particular keyword. The higher the authority of the domains already ranking, the harder it will be to outrank them.
